The holidays are the perfect time to reflect on what’s most important. And for most, family and close friends top the list.
But getting together on days like Thanksgiving isn’t always so simple. In fact, this year AAA predicts that more than 54 million people are traveling by plane, train, car and other transportation to visit family. From traffic to expense, too-short “vacation” windows, and other obligations - Thanksgiving can be more stress than even a strong dose of tryptophan and holiday cheer can relieve.
So while the impulse to be together is strong, the reality of getting together “in person” isn’t always feasible. This is why telepresence is technology you can be thankful exists - being able to be in two places at once.
Football & Family
Larry Beil is San Francisco’s ABC7 News co-anchor and host of their post-game show, “After the Game” - and he’s also a Beam “super fan.” He’s used “Larrybot” to cover Stanford University’s Football Fan Fest, proving that the era of real life armchair quarterbacking is upon us. Larry is also the dad of a busy, successful recent college grad and marketing pro, Kiana, who isn’t always able to make it home for the holidays.
Here’s one of our favorite pics of the Beils from last Thanksgiving:
Home for the holidays
Our mission is to make all kinds of family situations work, from moms and dads who have to work far from their young children to adult children caring for aging parents and couples separated by distance for work or school.
Making the dream of being two places at once a reality makes us Beam. We are grateful for the opportunity to help families, like the Beils’, stay closer.
Happy Thanksgiving!
