Beam Network - 5.0 GHz

The use of a 5 GHz network is HIGHLY recommended over any other wireless network frequency. The following is an explanation for why 5 GHz is so strongly suggested for Beam use.

2.4 GHz Frequencies

Due to the nature of a 2.4 GHz network environment, interference is a common problem on a 2.4 frequency. With exception to Japan, there are only 3 non-overlapping channels (1, 6, 11) that are suited for use on this frequency. We have found that in populated wireless environments (offices, apartments, etc.) these channels are very saturated. Devices such as Bluetooth technology, cordless phones, microwave ovens, computers, access points, and some routers, all use the 2.4 GHz frequency which causes packet collisions and packet loss.

                                      

5.0 GHz Frequencies

On a 5.0 GHz network, there are 23 non-overlapping channels from which to choose, so you'll see far less congestion and in turn, experience a clearer connection.
